In volume 6 of Eureka Seven you obtain episodes 23 to 26 of the series. In our last volume, Renton left the Gekko after believing he caused Eureka to nearly die. Out on his absorb, Renton meets Charles and Ray Beams, a couple who consume a liking to him, but with an attractive past. Support on the Gekko, the crew must travel on without Renton, but Eureka unruffled doesn’t know what has happened. As leader, it is Holland’s duty to explain Eureka, but will he?

Everything appears to be going perfectly until he discovers Charles and Ray are supposed to seize Eureka and the Nirvash. As Renton leaves the two, they are heart broken, but remain focused on their mission. Eureka finally learns what happened to Renton and is crushed. She longs to inspect him again, and cramped does she know, but Renton feels the same. After meeting a queer, but kind man and his wife, Renton decides to return to the Gekko.

In a taste of irony, Renton arrives succor on the Gekko unprejudiced as Eureka leaves it to notice for him. She is attacked by Charles and Ray, but can Renton rep to her in time? The outcome results in my idea in one of the greatest scenes in the expose.

All the episodes on this disc are rotund of emotion, mostly sadness, but this episode is the opposite. It depicts happiness after quite a few darker episodes in regards to emotions and leaves you feeling expedient, and a bit wary of the future as Charles and Ray conception a counterattack.

Overall, this is a astronomical disc with 4 terrific episodes of Eureka Seven. If you have read this and have no understanding what I’m talking about, win the first volume of this exhibit, starting it here would be unwise. Mild, this disc is the halfway point and contains my current episode of the explain, I recommend it to all fans of anime.

I have collected all of the DVD’s in this series and when this new one came out i pre-ordered it and recieved it today. By far this the one of the best. Little foot finally finds his long lost father(who was looking for him all this time) he never knew he had he gets a father and also a adopted brother Shorty, and has to make a decision to leave his friends and grandparents to be with his father. This was a very sad part of the movie. The song at the end of the movie that Littlefoot’s friends Ducky, Cera, Petrie and of course Spike sing Bestest of Friends is so sad, I actually almost cried. This movie really shows true friendship. I highly recommend it to old and young.

Like all the movies in this series, The Great Longneck Migration is another fine installment. Of couse, none of the sequels could equal the first theatrical release, but all of them have been very enjoyable for my two sons and have provided important lessons for me and my wife as we try to be as good at parenting as Littlefoot’s grandparents. One reviewer didn’t like the fact that both Littlefoot’s long lost father and his grandparents allowed Littlefoot to decide with whom he would live. In real life, of course, they would have fought over his custody in court and perhaps even outside of it for months or years with Littlefoot having to split time between them with no real home. If only so-called adults could act as mature and loving as fictional dinosaurs in doing what made the child happy. This movie, like all the others in the series, teaches the real meaning of friendship and love while being immensely entertaining. The nitpicking comlaints one reviewer had about voices and whatever went totally unnoticed in our household despite repeated viewings. I highly recommend it but more importantly, my boys loved it.

This is the second time Daisy Ashford’s famous book has been filmed for UK television. Sadly, this is the less succesful version. The whole appeal of the original book was seeing and hearing about the world through the words of a nine year old Victorian girl. Her unique spelling, opinions and ideas – mostly romantic notions about how adults in love behave – make for hilarious reading.

This BBC TV production changes much of the original material to suit it’s own purposes, which completely obliterates the artless innocence of the book. Worse still, they have actually made up new lines, supposedly in the style of the original book, and yet actually left out many of Daisy’s original and memorable lines of dialogue along the way! They have also added new characters and even devised new mis-spellings that Daisy Ashford never included…what a mistake! It’s impossible to embellish a piece of work as original as “The Young Visiters” just for the purposes of padding it out into a full length movie…it’s a unique piece of work that sprung from the mind of a nine year old girl, and written circa 1890 – what script writer today could possible emulate that with sufficient accuracy?! So, the overall result is a mildly amusing but perplexing comedy of manners with the characters delivering odd speeches and unfathomable mannerisms, and seemingly unable to spell when they write letters to each other. As a TV programme, it just doesn’t make the charm of the book come to life.

The previous version was made way back in 1984 and seems to have disappeared completely now, but it was in fact better than this effort, plus it starred Tracey Ullman, who was hilariously well cast as the pompous Ethel. And the cast got to concentrate much more on the original immortal dialogue, unlike those roped into this mess. None of the humour stands out in the new version, even though it has a stirling cast and a big budget. If you watch this and enjoy it, that’s great, but in my opinion the spirit of Daisy Ashford’s book has been all but wrung out of it.

I was delightfully surprised at how funny and touching this movie is. The movie seems as though it is straight out of Tim Burton’s mind. Very entertaining and such a fantasy. You need to show your family this movie.

Very pleased with this set. In an age where you can quite easily pay $20 for a new, single-disc release of most movies, which come with no insert other than a one-sheet “Buy more DVDs from this company”…it’s refreshing to pay less than $20 for two well-made discs and a very nice, informative booklet. As a fan of Hertzfeldt, Plympton and Judge, I bought this on the strength of them, but am finding a lot more that I like on here as well. Can’t wait to catch the road show when it comes to the my area.

Word of warning, most people who come to this page will already know but, some of these cartoons are rather strange. Just be forewarned, if you try to put this on in mixed company, or for people who aren’t really into animation other than Family Guy and The Simpsons, I doubt they will run screaming – but they’re probably going to give you some strange looks. That’s one of the reasons I love them – but, it might not be a lot of people’s cup of tea.

And like JONG said, for 67 cents a short, you really can’t beat giving it a shot.

Somehow or another my local Target store was selling copies of this dvd about 10 days before it is supposed to be released. So….lucky me. For animation fans of whatever variety, this is a great little collection. “Mike Judge and Don Hertzfeldt have scoured the globe to bring you thirty amazing animated films”, and how! This collection includes a smorgasboard of animation, including traditional animation, rotoscoping, clay animation, stop-motion, 3d animation, experimental, and probably more than a few hybrids. If you are a fan of “Beavis and Butt-head” (or just a fan of Mike Judge in general), this collection contains several early animations and experimentations, somewhat revealing the evolution of the style behind “B & B”. Although, it may be said that you can probably view the majority (if not all) of these animations on-line, there is something invaluable about having them all in your hand contained within an attractively designed box set, which also contains an informative booklet profiling the artists behind the contained animations. All for under $20 (which comes out to about 67 cents per animation). Not too shabby.

So how did such a mediocre film warrant six sequels (here’s a hint…it’s all about the money)? There’s the recent. Children of the Corn II: The Final Sacrifice (1993), Children of the Corn III (1995), Children of the Corn IV: The Gathering (1996), Children of the Corn V: Fields of Anxiety (1998), Children of the Corn 666: Isaac’s Return (1999), and Children of the Corn: Revelation (2001) …that’s a lot of corn, or as the Native Americans call it, maize…I’ve seen the unusual, but not the subsequent sequels…my gut instinct tells me to avoid them. Children of the Corn, aka Stephen King’s Children of the Corn (1984), directed by Fritz Kiersch (Tuff Turf, Gor) features a solid cast including Peter Horton (”thirtysomething”) and Linda Hamilton (Terminator 2: Judgment Day) . Also appearing is R.G. Armstrong (Dick Tracy), Courtney Gains (Colors, The ‘burbs) and John Franklin, who appeared 1991 film The Addams Family, along with its’ 1993 sequel, as the very hairy Cousin Itt.

Click HereThe film, which primarily takes state in the tiny farming town of Gatlin, Nebraska, begins with a flashback, relating a particularly homely incident in where the children depopulate the town of nearly all adults through a qualified ancient fashion bloodbath. Hastily forward three years to the demonstrate, and we have Burton (Horton) and his girlfriend Vicky (Hamilton) traveling through the Midwest as Burton has recently graduated from med school, and has been offered an internship somewhere…but that’s neither here nor there as the pair derive lost, have an accident, and soon fetch themselves looking for wait on in Gatlin…but guess what? Gatlin appears all but deserted…except for the children, who’ve formed some kind of curious cult, led by the incredibly creepy man-child Isaac (Franklin) . Initially their idolatry seems to be centered on the corn, but later we learn it’s not so noteworthy the corn as what lurks under the corn. Burton and Vicky soon collect themselves in a world of effort, as the corn is thirsting for holy sacrifices, and they’re at the top of the list (I wouldn’t mind initiating a religious ceremony with that Linda Hamilton…that is the soft and sexy Linda from the new Terminator movie, not the bony and intensely scary Linda from T2: Judgment Day) …

The film is based on a Stephen King short account taken from his book Night Shift, which I’ve never read, but I have read a number of his other books, many of which were later adapted to film, with varying degrees of success…anyone else besides me sit through Maximum Overdrive? Okay, Children of the Corn isn’t as awful as that was, but it is lacking something…it’s not the acting…Horton, whom I hate for no other reason than he was on that TV indicate `thirtysomething’ was actually lovely suited. As far as Linda Hamilton, well, I consider she’s a grand actress, provided she’s given something to work with, and that wasn’t the case here. The trusty fun is watching the performances of Franklin and Gains, as Isaac and Malachai, respectively. Franklin is extremely disconcerting as the leader of the group, mainly because his appearance is that of a child, but a closer spy would develop you deem twice as his face and shriek seem to prove some worthy older. Turns out Franklin, who suffered from some sort of hormone deficiency, was actually great older, like 23 at the time of the film’s release. As far as Gains, he presents the most intense performance as Isaac’s enforcer and factual hand man, but I felt like he got into it unprejudiced a cramped too grand (in the featurette Gains speaks of his craft and how he brought his character to the hide…I do luxuriate in it when actors give to the camouflage, but I reflect Gains took his modest role a bit too seriously, trying to invent more of it than it was…but since the production in general was radiant bland, this overacting wasn’t necessarily unwelcome) . These two guys reach off really generous as the antagonists, mainly because they’re so completely annoying I wanted to beat them both to a pulp (wait for the scene when Malachai is walking down the center of the street calling for Burton to arrive out, yelling `Outlander!”…you’ll understand what I mean by annoying) . As far as the direction, I have no staunch complaints, as Kiersch seems obliging…in the featurette he speaks a lot of what he was trying to achieve with regards to the sense of direction, and in some areas I mediate he met his goal, but others I mediate his aspirations extended beyond his capabilities. So what’s the predicament with the film? It’s the epic…well, not the unique memoir, but the adaptation of the narrative. As I said, I’m familiar with many of King’s works, and I know he takes a lot of time to craft his tales, utilizing detail like it was going out of style. I mediate one of the things that makes his legend so current is his ability to paint a visual using words…and he also seems to do this in terms that are accessible to an extremely wide audience. And I judge this is a main factor that ends up hurting many of the films that are adapted from his novels…they lack the focus on what’s distinguished to the memoir. I contemplate this is why we are seeing his more original works produced as television mini-series…because more time can be spent developing the account and presenting the details, in my concept.

Special features include a modern 39 little documentary titled Harvesting Dismay, an audio commentary by the director, the producer, actors Franklin and Gains, trailer, poster and aloof gallery, screenplay, storyboard art, title sequence art, and a mini reproduction of poster for the film inside the DVD case.

Well, what has always struck me is how well the children are adapted to the surroundings. I actually Maintain that these children lived in Gatlin “before” the filming of the movie. They seem very at home and the petite town feel is somehow legitimate. The sound is very proper for an older flick, being given the 5.1 treatment, and the win itself is practially worth seeing the movie for… I unprejudiced savor that chanting “Omen-ish” net, always have. The transfer I’d say is above average, though in places it falters a bit, there is also a aesthetic insert book that comes with it which is novel for a rather lowbudget movie. I really like all the leads here, specifically the peruse on young Sarah’s face when “Vickie” is taken out to the clearing, she honestly looks to be in awe, I almost feel sorry for the young actress.What’s to detest? Well, aside from the uncommon smalltown feel there really aren’t many chills from a awe movie standpoint. Also, I’ve never really liked the waste, often turning it off b4 the unpleasant CG ending, but hey, this is ‘84 afterall.If you have a few dollars and are looking for a somewhat surreal peek at shrimp town life, you could do worse than giving Children Of The Corn a watch.

The film at 85 minutes is astonishing. The extras at over 6.5 hours are fantastic. This DVD location is a source of all things Beat that I will be looking help at for years. It is beautifully arranged so that you can behold many extras on the same disc as the feature and also contemplate 35 interviews on Disc 2 including so many friends of Allen who also happened and happen to be cultural phenomenon’s in their fill correct including Baez, Beck, Bono, Brakhage, Burroughs, Depp, Glass, Hoffman, Kesey, Leary, McCartney, Sonic Youth, Ono, Patti Smith, Hunter S. Thompson, Andy Warhol and so many more!

Jerry Aronson has augmented his crisp, straightforward 1993 documentary portrait of the poet Allen Ginsberg with six hours of extra material for this double-disc release, which now makes it a scholarly resource as well as a remarkably clearheaded behold of a singularly complex individual.

Mr. Aronson’s film follows Ginsberg from his middle-class upbringing in Fresh Jersey through the media explosion that was the Beat movement, his role in the flowering youth movement of the 1960s and his last years as a devoted Buddhist and political activist. Those interviewed range from end friends and family members to artists whose relationship to Ginsberg was more remote (Beck, Bono and Johnny Depp, while the footage Mr. Aronson has gathered includes lengthy excerpts from Ginsberg’s 1998 memorial tribute at the Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine, Ginsberg and Bob Dylan visiting Jack Kerouac’s grave, a 1965 reading with Neal Cassady at the City Lights bookstore in San Francisco and sequences from Jonas Mekas’s touching report of Ginsberg’s wake, “Scenes From Allen’s Last Three Days on Earth as a Spirit.”

There are two features of Ginsberg’s personality that approach through over and over in this inspiring documentary: he was a deeply wounded man, and he was a deeply lovable one. The two were obviously connected: Ginsberg’s wounds made him both vulnerable and compassionate. They could also get him rage against a world that condoned war and injustice, and all of these sides of him advance through in his poetry.

Ginsberg’s ur-wound was the tragedy of his mother, a powerful woman who sadly suffered from paranoid schizophrenia, was in and out of institutions during Ginsberg’s youth, and finally died in one. As a boy, Ginsberg was frequently charged with her care. As his stepmother says in the film, he was exposed to device too considerable for a young boy to assume in. His feelings of helplessness, frustration, impatience, like, guilt, and horror in the face of his mom’s illness and increasingly bizarre behavior marked him for life. Thankfully, his relationship with his father Louis, a lyric poet, was one of tenderness, mutual respect, and deep like.

Ginsberg’s glum relationship with his mother, as well as his genesis from beat poet to cosmic poet to Buddhist poet to titanic ragged man of American poetry is tracked in the film. Especially welcome are the long and splendid clips of Ginsberg reading his poetry: long sections of “Howl,” all of “Kaddish,” and others, sometimes build in music. There’s also a clip from Ginsberg’s appearance on Buckley’s “Firing Line,” in which the two men stood one another down. Lots of vintage smooth photography and cinema featuring the beat poets round out the documentary.

The one thing missing in the film was more than a brief mention of Ginsberg’s lifelong relationship with Peter Orlovsky. Ginsberg does say at one point, quite touchingly, that he and Peter made life vows to one another, and a rather vague reference to Orlovsky’s later mental and alcohol troubles is made. But the relationship is for the most section passed over in silence.

A honorable film, both for fans of Ginsberg’s poetry and those who know it only by hearsay. A fitting Kaddish for a man who’s heart and imagination stretched cosmically.

Montana sky is the myth of a bitter rancher who dies and forces his 3 daughters to farm his ranch for a year in order to inherit the estate. They don’t know each other before hand, but they all grow to esteem the opinion and live happily ever after.

Those who are hardcore fans of Nora Roberts might be blissful when any of her stories are made into movies. While I will admit that this movie was fun to witness (hence the 2 stars), it’s mostly fun for the contemptible reasons.

The epic is based on Nora Roberts fresh, but the teleplay was written by April Smith. Every cliche’ in the book is obsolete in this movie. The people are so country, the ranch feels more Texas than Montana. The girl from LA is called “Hollywood,” and she wears revealing outfits even when doing farm work. The sister from Virginia is the stereotypical mature escapee of an abusive marriage. John Corbett is the frail eye-candy whose character is only there to suck-in the target market of 40 year obsolete women. Farmhands named Ham, Pickles, and the like are thrown in too. Not to mention a Native American who talks about how the “white man always tries to beget a profit off of nature.” Are you kidding me?

There is a scene where they need 4 people to herd about 100 cattle, even though there’s supposed to be thousands on their ranch. Ridiculous! You don’t need 4 farm hands to herd 8 dozen cattle! I guess they plan they could exhaust smoke and mirrors to earn them view like many more. It doesn’t work. Who has only 100 head of cattle on what is supposed to be a 24 million dollar ranch!!!

So why is this movie level-headed delicious? Because I can be pleased unpleasant movies. It’s so unpleasant, it’s respectable. This is not a movie to overanalyze. This is a guilty pleasure movie for all those who worship Lifetime TV and/or Nora Roberts novels.

The actors do as reliable of a job as possible with their trite dialogue. The predictable anecdote and flimsy excuses for the men and women to couple up unprejudiced add to the joke.

Compared to this movie, almost everything on Lifetime seems Oscar safe. There are obliging actors here, but there isn’t noteworthy you can possess in this movie. The talents of Diane Ladd, for one, are very distinguished wasted here. Trust me, she is not alone.

You can unruffled savor this. If you can laugh at a romance fresh and are a fan of “Dallas,” you can have fun with this movie. Fair don’t examine to rob it seriously.

“Montana sky”, based on a unique of the same title written by Nora Roberts, is an inspiring movie that even those that have not read Robert’s book will like.

The fable begins with the funeral of Jack Mercy, a multimillionaire rancher that dies suddenly, leaving “Mercy ranch” to his three daughters, Willa (Ashley Williams), Tess (Charlotte Ross) and Lily (Laura Mennell) . These three young women have different mothers and don’t know each other, but will have to live together for a year as stipulated in Jack’s will, if they don’t want to lose their inheritance. Jack’s interference doesn’t destroy there: as autocratic in death as he was during his lifetime, he has left two overseers for a year, and one of them is Willa’s hateful neighbour, Ben (John Corbett) .

Willa, the only one of the sisters that lives and works in the ranch, along with her half-brother Adam (Nathaniel Arcand), resents her sisters’ presence, and the fact that she now has to deal with Ben daily. But not everything is what it looks like, and sometimes what seems like awful luck can turn out to be for the better. When a perilous stalker threatens them, Willa, Tess and Lily will need to trust each other, and the men around them, in order to survive.

Sounds challenging? Well, it is Truth to be told, I was somewhat shrinking to sight this film, because I didn’t judge such a stout current could become a movie without losing the nuances that gain it so trustworthy, but Mike Robe (the director) managed to avoid making an oversimplified version of “Montana sky”. Even though this movie is quite different from the book, and despite the fact that several sage lines have been omitted or modified, the spirit of the record is smooth there, and I fill you will indulge in it. That is the reason why I can recommended it to you…
